Kerri's Hen Night
Her last weekend as a single girl was spent with good friends, bubbly, and many mentions of Snoop Dog in Long Beach, where we painted the town red. Congrats to my best girl!

Sunday Confessions
I love Muse so much that listening to their albums daily has inspired me to learn one song on the guitar this year. This should be extremely interesting seeing as I've never played anything my entire life. We have an acoustic, bass, and other (second bass?) in our house so I guess I'll start with my go-to finder, Google. Not sure what I'll find when I query "Muse guitar tabs for music novice." I have 350 days...God speed to myself.

Wishing and Hoping...
For this chaise lounge. It's amazing. I think a chaise lounge would suit me extremely well. Just saying "chaise lounge" is lovely. But not as lovely as owning that piece of furniture. It even fits two people!

I've Been Summoned
Six days shy of turning 26, I received my first jury summons. Ever.
I have been waiting for its arrival since my 18th birthday, and they have taken a while to find me. I have friends who've been called numerous times, and I sit back and think about the important role and I suppose a sort of civically virtuous job, a la 12 Angry Men.
I understand this is a romanticized view of a fairly crappy day to be spent, but at least I'll finally see how it operates and likely play a good mental game of "makeover the public."
Gosh I love 30 Rock.

The Business of Birthdays
The thing with birthdays is that you can't always plan their exact timing, which is the case with my friend Janae, whose special day fall the day after Christmas. The day people go into a minor post holiday funk and lament another twinkle-filled season gone by. Many families also still have their own celebrations to attend to, thus any birthday parties are hard to come by on the actual day.
So Kerri and I wait a few days and then we take this girl out to celebrate her 24th year.
Happy Birthday Friend!

Sunday Confessions
I have a serious case of home design envy. Frankly, I suck at decorating, coordinating, and making a space a home. This seems like it should be a guaranteed female talent, but somehow I missed the boat, or the gene missed me.
I know what I like when I see it, but I cannot initiate the ideas. This now means another life transition-home and garden magazines for inspiration. I have officially entered adulthood.

Reuniting
As 2010 is ushered in today, I can't help but think about impending events, such as my high school reunion that is now only two years away. Many people do not look forward to such events but I loved high school. I miss the proms and Homecomings, football games, and of course dance team.
I am interested to see how high school reunions evolve in a time where most people have reconnected on social media sites-albeit the online world, it's still a peak into their lives. This does not replace meeting up with your peers, but I would guess a low key affair at a wine bar is more appropriate versus a black tie hotel reception.
Though I am not quite sure how it would be structured, I've always like the idea of combining years for a reunion-perhaps inviting those who graduated the year above and below for further reconnecting. I have a distinct memory of signing up to be on this planning committee and I am looking forward to the day I hear from our class president and rep, Barbie and Katie!
